A Bruise
The blister hasn't left town yet. I did manage to get my run in on Thursday and didn't make it too much worse. I was about to get suited up for my run this afternoon when my youngest pulled out a kitchen drawer...and the front corner fell smack on top...

Blisters
Yes, although I coat my toes with vaseline, I still manage to get the occasional blister. Usually not run-ending. Clip the toenails, give it day...or two...and they usually reabsorb. Not the latest one. The inside of my big toe on my left foot got a nice...

Back in the Saddle
Okay, I've been away. Not literally, just been swamped with other things, and generally by the time I can type at night, I can't. Read on to see why. An update on where I am: My neck and back are still bothering me. After months of seeing a chiropractor...
I’ll Drive
I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry…both because of how cute and sad it was at the same time. Friday as my children and I spent a day together at home, my oldest grabbed my car keys and headed out the door ahead of me to “unlock” the car. ...
Fell Off the Face of the Earth
I didn’t.  Not quite. Between the colds that have hit my household, a birthday party for my oldest, a baptism, and a huge family Easter celebration I’ve been busy.  Add in dealing with all of my appointments for my neck/back pain and I think...

On The Eve…
…of turning 33…I had to actually do the math to figure out how old I’ll be tomorrow.  Not sure whether to blame that on lack of sleep, Mommy brain or Momnesia, or just getting old. My other list of complaints including: dry, cracked hands split...
Pre-Holiday Stress
'Tis the season...and for the first time in my life I'm not feeling much stress at the holidays. Thankfully. My wonderful husband taped over 100 photos into our holiday cards last weekend while I addressed envelopes and wrote in my personal message. Even...

All I Want For Christmas
Is a new back...or maybe just to be pain free. I tried describing the constant pain to my husband tonight, and I guess by saying, "I'm tired of being nauseous" it hit home. I just keep in mind it could be A LOT worse. I saw my rheumatologist this afternoon...

At Least Everything Doesn't Hit At Once
My pink eye is getting better. My eye actually itches today. Knock on wood, no one else in the house has gotten pink eye or a cold. Bad news: I pulled my back yesterday. Yup, and just by pulling a cushion out of the couch to help my 2 1/2 year old make...

I'm Not Going to Jinx Myself
Knock on wood...last night, for the first time our little one slept nearly 5 hours straight...in his own bed! Yes, that means I actually slept! He's been doing better the last two or three nights sleeping in his crib, and sleeping a few hours straight...
Post Pregnancy Labs
I received my post pregnancy lab work today in the mail. It's been a little while since I've had blood work sent to me, so I'm curious to see how my numbers compare. However, it brought back how I was diagnosed. As I was reviewing the blood work, the...
I Feel Bruised
That wonderful pain in my neck hasn't gone away. I had my loving husband stretch me out like the good doctor showed me, and that didn't really help. I'm fortunate to have a sister-in-law that not only is a physical therapist, but works like 10 minutes...

Pain in the Neck
After nearly two weeks of discomfort, my husband finally talked me into calling the doctor to make an appointment. I was able to get in this afternoon, and my great husband left work a little early and met up with me there so he could drive the kids home...

6 Weeks Post Delivery
I've made it to the final finish line in the birthing process - six weeks post delivery. For the first 2 weeks home, I had the no heavy lifting, no driving, and no more than once up and down the stairs a day rules. Add the no bath, swimming, or exercise...
Will I Find My Groove?
I have to wonder. To sum up the past several weeks...I'm tired. Very tired. Thankfully, my partner in crime really is my partner - my husband actually let me "sleep in" (aka, I just had the baby...who's nursing every hour) on Saturday morning while he...
